100 Things About Me


  1. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri. I've also lived in Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado.
  2. I moved to the Denver area in January of 2002.
  3. I was raised Catholic, but now consider myself more spiritual than religious.
  4. I graduated from a Catholic high school and a Catholic college.
  5. I've been divorced for 10 years. Pope annuled it. I don't know how to spell "annulled".
  6. I've had one miscarriage, and I have no children. I was a stepmother when I was married.
  7. I love animals, and think there's something seriously wrong with those who don't.
  8. I like to drive fast.
  9. I hate hate hate clothes shopping and shoe shopping. I never remember to wear jewelry. I always wear makeup.
  10. I love antique shopping.
  11. My hobbies include blogging, scrapbooking, rubber stamp art, writing, and photography. All sedentary. Imagine that.
  12. I love to watch television, which is why I don't have cable. If I did have cable, I'd never get off my ass. Oh crap, I don't get off my ass anyway. I may as well get cable!
  13. I love standup comedy and hockey. Just not at the same time.
  14. I love movies too. Every kind but action and horror, but I'll watch them anyway.
  15. My favorite dessert is the black tie moussecake at The Olive Garden.
  16. I was addicted to MTV in high school. I graduated high school in 1986.
  17. I believe everyone should have their pet spayed or neutered.
  18. I'm a smartass. If being a smartass were a paying career, I'd be rich, because I'm good at it. It is my only talent.
  19. I'm fat. I often forget this, because I haven't always been fat. When I look in the mirror, it surprises me.
  20. I hate to exercise (see above). I hate to cook. I hate to grocery shop. So why the fuck am I fat? Oh yeah, beer! And the fact I don't recognize food unless it's handed to me through a window as I sit in my car.
  21. My first rock concert was Billy Squier, with Blue Oyster Cult opening for him. I was 14.
  22. Steve Perry once gave me a "thumbs up" at a Journey concert during the song "Open Arms".
  23. I get annoyed easily, and get over it easily.
  24. I dislike most children I meet. It's usually the parents fault.
  25. I'm way too attached to my digital camera.
  26. I am disliked by some people because I say what I think. They can bite my white ass.
  27. I can't stand to hurt anyone's feelings. Except if they deserve it.
  28. My retirement plan is to die young. I have no 401K.
  29. I've worn glasses since I was 22 months old. I had eye surgery when I was four. If I don't have my contacts in, I'm as blind as a bat.
  30. I'm not as nice as I used to be.
  31. I'll do anything for my friends.
  32. I need a day or two a week where I don't interact with other humans, or I get stressed out. Being snowed in for a winter probably wouldn't bother me, if I had food and beer and my computer.
  33. I spent my first 4 years in college as a psychology major. Then I became an EMT, then a paramedic, then an RN. The hardest thing I ever did was paramedic school.
  34. I have half of my MBA.
  35. My first job was when I was in 3rd grade. I sold greeting cards door-to-door.
  36. I was a Blue Bird, then a Campfire Girl. I was never a Brownie or a Girl Scout.
  37. I got lost on a river for 10 hours and almost drowned when I was 12 years old. I haven't liked water since.
  38. I do, however, love to ride around in boats. Just as long as I don't get wet.
  39. I have a knack for getting out of speeding tickets and other trouble.
  40. I have achieved my dream of making a living as a writer, even though what I write isn't exactly "creative".
  41. I make major life decisions on instinct (some say impulse) and I never look back.
  42. I wore braces in junior high. I lost a retainer once when I threw up and it fell out and I didn't realize it until I flushed the toilet. My mom was pissed.
  43. I played the clarinet my first year in junior high band, but didn't practice over the summer and forgot how to play it. When I came back the next year, I switched to playing cymbals to get out of admitting I forgot how to play the clarinet. Plus, I could bring them home to "practice" (heh, heh!) and annoy the hell out of my mom.
  44. Few things in life are more fulfilling than a sincere conversation with another human being.
  45. I have trouble sleeping, so I often fall asleep on the couch watching TV. I also play Yahtzee on my PDA until I get drowsy and fall asleep.
  46. If I ruled the world, elastic waistbands would be mandatory.
  47. I hate wearing sandals. I think feet are gross. Not just mine, but everyone's.
  48. I dislike dancing. It interferes with my drinking.
  49. I listen to all kinds of music. Alternative, rap, and rock are my favorite genres.
  50. I love to read.
  51. Dilbert, Calvin & Hobbes, Far Side, and Bloom County are my favorite comics of all time. I'm also liking Get Fuzzy.
  52. I wish I could be a stay-at-home mom to my dog.
  53. I believe in true love, but I don't think it happens as often as people think.
  54. I'd rather be alone than be with someone I'm wrong for.
  55. I rarely get bored with my own company.
  56. I think I did the best work of my life when I was a Hospice nurse.
  57. I spent all my high school years writing notes in class. I remember little else from class.
  58. I once wrote a 36 page letter to a boyfriend in the Navy.
  59. I am insane over men in uniform. Seriously. I need a 12 step program.
  60. I can't drink milk unless it has ice cubes in it.
  61. I've moved 22 times in my life.
  62. I'm a Cancer, so I get my feelings hurt easily, and am a homebody.
  63. I believe in John Edward. Shut up!
  64. If I could change one thing about myself, it would be my singing voice. Not being able to sing never stops me from doing so. That's why I have tinted windows in my car.
  65. I was adopted at birth. I grew up with two younger brothers who were not adopted. I have since found two more biological half-brothers.
  66. My favorite TV show is South Park. My favorite movie is Moonstruck.
  67. When I was 15, I tried to start smoking to piss off my mom. However, I'd always forget to smoke, so it never caught on with me.
  68. I'm the worst procrastinator you'll ever meet.
  69. I love amusement parks on days there are short lines for the roller coasters.
  70. I love to fly. I once went on a blind date who took me up in his two-seater plane. I threw up.
  71. If something happens to me and it's funny, then I will probably not be embarassed, even if I look like an idiot.
  72. I used to babysit for a dollar an hour. I hated it.
  73. I wanted kids until I actually saw a live birth.
  74. If you had asked me at age 16 if I'd still be talking to my family when I left home, I'd have said no way.
  75. My first "real" job was at Hardees when I was 16. I made $3.35 an hour. My coworkers would throw hamburgers to me when I was on break, since I was broke and couldn't afford to buy one. I could always afford alcohol though.
  76. My first true love was my assistant manager at said Hardees. It took me years to get over him. He was one of the few men in my life that ever made me feel like I was worth something.
  77. My grandparents taught me what love was. They died six days apart when I was in the 4th grade. I still miss them.
  78. I have a german shepard named Harley that lives with my parents. I love her as much as I love Moose, the dog that I have now. And that is a LOT!
  79. I once had four rabbits at the same time. One of them would sit up and beg like a dog for french fries.
  80. I don't have a roommate now, but if I did I'd prefer to have a male roommate. Women are bitches.
  81. I regret not ever seeing Fleetwood Mac in concert.
  82. I probably drink too much beer, but I don't care.
  83. I try to dissuade anyone from becoming a nurse. It sucks as a career. I wish I had gone to vet school.
  84. I love my nephews and my friends kids.
  85. I wish Christopher Lowell would come and decorate my house.
  86. I'd rather be cold than hot. 75 degrees is about as warm as I ever want it to get outside.
  87. I don't think I'll ever make enough money to take a real vacation.
  88. I used to play Barbies for hours and hours when I was young.
  89. My dream is to live in a restored historic Queen Anne Victorian home. The kind with the stained glass, turrets, balconies, and tons of gingerbread.
  90. If I won the lottery, I'd become a lawyer and represent battered women for free.
  91. I love giving presents, but rarely remember events. I may give a present for no reason, then totally blow off the same person's birthday.
  92. I like to think my absent mindedness is a sign of genius.
  93. I was in the gifted & talented program from 5th to 8th grade. I was the stupidest person in the program. Story of my life. I tend to be the worst in any group of the best of whatever.
  94. I miss sleepovers. The kind you had in jr. high where you'd call up your crush, giggle, and hang up. Then someone's bra would get frozen.
  95. I'm not intimidated by important people at work any more. I know I'll always be a peon, so they can do nothing to hurt me. Mmmm, the POWER!
  96. I'm registered Democrat, but often agree with Republican bloggers.
  97. If I knew how to speak Italian, I'd speak it all of the time.
  98. Besides dogs and rabbits, I've also owned a guinea pig, a hamster, a hermit crab, ferrets, a cat, and a chinchilla.
  99. My dream job would be to be a writer for the Conan O'Brien show.
  100. I'm not afraid to die. I only hope I can come back and haunt the people who pissed me off in life! ;-)
